It is not enough for a host to say their dogs are friendly. For a reactive dog, the setup has to make an encounter physically impossible: a separate room or suite, a door your dog cannot be surprised through, and a rota that gives the guest dog private garden time. Ask which of those apply, one by one.

Arrival and pick-up count as part of the stay. Those are the moments most likely to go wrong, because two owners overlap in a driveway. A host who has thought about it will offer staggered times and a quiet handover spot.

That compresses outdoor time and pushes dogs into shared indoor space — the worst combination for a reactive dog in a busy household. Agree the medication protocol in writing (dose, timing, what to do if a dose is refused), fix update windows so you are not messaging all day, and do a short handover in a quiet place rather than on a busy street.
